We are a people governed by the rule of law and that law derives from the United States Constitution. Would it surprise you that senior officials of the Obama Administration do not agree? These officials believe in “one-world” in which the United States is merely one non-sovereign player.
Today laws are adopted and interpreted under the Constitution. There is nothing to prevent judges from considering the laws of other countries to better interpret domestic law. Ultimately, however, issues in our courts are dealt with under the U.S. Constitution. Judges varying from this standard will be over-turned by higher courts. Our one-world friends, however, would have decisions on disputed issues decided on the basis of the law of other jurisdictions as well as domestic law. This would include Sharia law which is the sacred law of Islam. I leave you to explore Sharia law, but it is clear that Sharia law is very different from the laws under our Constitution. Further, and importantly, it based on values often considered unacceptable in our Country.
Those who believe in the supremacy of our Constitution reject the philosophy that it is but one resource in addressing issues under law. The proponents of minimizing the importance of the Constitution include Harold Koh, the Legal Advisor to the State Department. Michael Posner, Assistant Secretary of State is another proponent. That makes two sub-cabinet level officials in our Department of State. There are more. You may recall Mr. Posner. He established fame by apologizing to the government of China for our human rights violations associated with the Arizona law adopted to deal with illegal immigration.
Some would suggest that the biggest proponent of a one world order is President Omama. He certainly speaks of it often enough. He has continued a series of conferences among Canada, Mexico and the United States to continue efforts at cooperation. The end game of these discussions, it is felt, is the creation of the North American Union with its own currency, the Amero, to replace the currencies of all three countries. The Canadian Council of Chief Executives, the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations and the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations created the Independent Task Force on North America. Its goal in to create greater integration among the three countries and move the North American Free Trade Agreement further to create the North American Economic and Security Community. It is felt that the next step would be the creation of the North American Union to parallel the European Union, a Union of African States and a Union of Asian countries. Can one world government be far behind.
The drum-beat of one world order can be heard at all levels of government and throughout the political community, especially the Council on Foreign Relations. There are those that seek to distract from attention to the one world concept, especially by claiming that the attention is coming from the conspiracy theorists. Maybe so, but the likes of Lou Dobbs and Ron Paul have warned of the movement. Even though we hear mention of it from time to time, it is hard to believe that there is “secret society” seeking to create a one world government that would make all important decisions that control our lives. It probably warrants some vigilance, nonetheless. Our Constitution and sovereign nation are at stake. A wise man once told me “if ten guys tell you that you have a tail, you should check.”
